In most organisations, people are promoted based on technical competencies. Those promotions inevitably lead to leadership requirements and its in this area, without any training that people often fail. I use my experience as a Troop Commander in the the Royal Marines, leading teams of thirty or more men in arduous training and operational environments when I was just 20 years of age. I use the examples I have gained from interviewing Leaders such as Kofi Annan, John Carter and General Philip Breedlove. I use well recognised models and deliver with a mixture of teaching and group coaching styles. I equally enjoy working with young developing leaders embarking on their journeys as well as Executive boards, I learn from all them. I see my work in leadership development as a public health campaign and seek to create an awareness of the influence and impact we all have on society. Good leadership in all environments is key to happier societies.
